Roof's On - Let's Party!

You all know us well enough to know we will find any excuse to make a party. This time we didn't have to. After the new roof was installed Jaime, our extraordinary contractor and Caesar, our fabulous plumber did it for us. Caesar brought in a shipment of 30 lbs. of Louisiana Crawfish and Jaime fired up the grill and voila...Cajun happiness in a pot. Our first BBQ. I didn't have to shop, cook or clean up. Doesn't get better than this. A great kick-off to the Memorial Day Weekend.
Enjoy. Big HUG from the "Left" Coast.

Wild Kingdom...sort of

As you browse through the pictures I think you'll see what I'm referring to...
Mr. Fox (not George Clooney) on the Golf course, Goose and the goslings on the fairway, and our Tree Trimmer, Tyler doing his Cirque du Soleil act from high above our front porch, chainsaw and all.
I played a lovely course, Monarch Bay in San Leandro, a fund raising event for The Horizon Foundation. It was great fun and my team, "The Coastal Gals" won Third Prize with an overall score of 66! Pretty impressive...well I was impressed. It really helped that one of the gals, Carol is the pro at the Half Moon Bay Golf Course. In addition to hitting the greens on every hole she strategized the play and her energy made me look like I was in reverse, now I know what it must feel like to be with me!
Mr. Fox walked right up to us, it was amazing. He obviously has the run of the course. I'm just glad he didn't decide to snack on the goslings or their parents. He opted for part of a turkey sandwich.
Watching Tree Trimmer Tyler was truly amazing. He lashes himself to all sorts of rope and cable and then flies through the trees, hoists up the chainsaw and cuts away the branches and lowers them down to the ground and continues until he prunes it just so. Then he does his "Fargo" thing and grinds it all up and carts it away. He's been doing this for over 20 years and he absolutely loves it. I think you can see the smile on his face. Lesson learned...when you love what you do it's not work.

Bi-Coastal Bi-Planes BobCat&Babs

In between demolition, decisions and decorating BC and I have managed to take in the sights. These photos are from our rendezvous in Palm Springs in March. Yes, we went up in the Bi-Plane with Glen our pilot and toured the desert from the air, unbelievable! The Dream Machines expo happened right here at the Half Moon Bay Airport just down the road from our Dream House.

Boy Toys and Studs

I've been a bit behind in my postings...BC has been out here for the past week which has been great! Sorry to say she flies home tomorrow. This is the part of the Bi-Coastal experience that's the real challenge. We've had a sensational time. The weather was beyond perfect. We accomplished so much with the house. Picked the floor and windows. Placed the fireplace and shower contraption (which is fabulous given we purchased it online and until yesterday had no idea what it really looked like). A thousand decisions every day. All very exciting and a lot of fun.
It was also our 5th Wedding Anniversary...our official wedding in Vancouver was 5-7-5. BC looked up the gift for this one and it just so happens to be "Wood." How appropros...a floor and a roof!
We took the Boy Toys out for a few drinks and laughs to "Sam's" a restaurant that overlooks one of the most beautiful spots along the coast. We have been extraordinarily lucky to have Jaime and his crew working on our dream house. They are doing a fantastic job. Check out www.verdura-construction.com
Now that the sheeting is on the roof the process will be moving ahead much more quickly. It's all coming together just the way we've imagined it. More pix will follow. Hope you enjoy the attached.

Flyin' High

I wanted to share with you a little of the gayer side of life here on the 'Left Coast.' As many of you know BC and I love going to the NCLR yearly gala...aka "The Prom." As they say, "a picture is worth a thousand words"...enjoy!
