That Was The Year That Was!

Here's to turning the page!
What did we make of last year? What do we want to make of the new one?
For BC&Babs Build Their DreamHouse, this phase of our dream has come true and as we close out this chapter we look forward to building our DreamLife and sharing it all with each of you.
Many of you asked for the blog to continue and so it will. A new title is in order and I seem to have framed it above so stay tuned!
Till next year...here are a few scenes to enjoy until you get to see them in person.
We wish you love, health, (don't postpone-joy) and abundance in all ways.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Final Finally!

Santa came early for us this year. Jamie called today with the news that the county has "finally" issued the "final" approval for our Bi-Coastal Dream House. The process was excruciating to say nothing of ridiculous, that said, it is now all behind us and we get to enjoy it. We did it! It will be a year come February that the first shovel went into the ground.
BC and I will be flying out Christmas night to spend the week and ring in the New Year. I couldn't let the holiday pass without connecting with you all to wish you a joy-filled and wonder-filled Merry Christmas.
I will post once more before the end of the year to close out this phase of BC&Babs Build Their Bi-Coastal Dreamhouse and will continue to share our adventure in 2011 as we live La Vida "Bi-Costal" Loca!
Love to you all and Happy Holiday!

DONE YET?!?!

I'm heading back to NYC today to be with BC and kick off the holiday season. As most, if not all of you know by now, the festivities don't really move into high gear until I celebrate my birthday, which happens to be this Friday...kidding aside...who's kidding?!?!
I couldn't leave Moss Beach without one more post to wrap up what certainly has been an outstanding year and share with you the final touches.

Welcome Home

Thanksgiving week seems more than appropriate as the marker for turning this house into a home. BC arrived last Thursday and got to spend her first night under our roof. Here's some of what she got to see.
We're also so thankful for everything we have and everyone in our life we get share it with. To each of you, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

It's Deja Vu All Over Again!

Today was the parade for the World Series Champion San Francisco Giants and I get to say I was there. For those of you who may not know this, my Dad was a NY Giants fan and one of the first ballgames I ever attended was the newly relocated SF Giants playing the newly expanded NY Mets in 1962. I can now officially claim the Bi-Coastal fan title as I have attended World Series ticker-tape parades on each coast, The NY Mets in '89 and the 2010 SF Giants! Lucky me, or as my nephew Matt wrote in a text to me, " you have winners on both coasts now, you must be the lucky charm." I can accept that. All kidding aside, it has been an incredible time out here watching and experiencing this win. It only took them 52 years to do it again since Bobby Thompson's shot heard round the world. For my Yankee fans, it shows how incredible an organization they are in having accomplished this feat 27 times!
Back here at BC&Babs Dream House I've been experiencing a sort of...kind a...deja vu all over again and I thought I'd share a bit of this as well.
Jamie&Co. are putting the real final touches on everything in preparation for BC's arrival and I'm eagerly awaiting being officially carried over the threshold...well not literally...
I've heard from so many of you how much you've enjoyed following our adventure. I've enjoyed sharing it even more and I can't wait to find out what's around the corner...Deja Vu All Over Again, thanks, Yogi!

Airplanes, Pumpkins and Ghouls!

So today I flew back to SFO to enjoy putting the finishing touches on the house and get it all ready for BC’s first “stay-over.” It’s time to turn the house into a home. Stack the dishes, buy some pots and pans, and actually cook on my fabulous Bertazzoni Stove!
It’s also time to enjoy the neighborhood, and that includes the Pumpkins and very imaginative and enthusiastic Halloween festivities…Goblins, Ghost, Ghouls, Haunted Houses, Costumes and lots of Trick or Treating. More will follow on this next week.
Our Bi-Coastal adventure continues, like the song, “now that we’ve found love what are we gonna do with it?” I guess the simple answer is, so far so good, the rest we’ll figure it out, and always enjoy the ride!

The House That BC&Babs Built!

The house will not be a home till BC gets here, that said, I'm in! Yes, finally. I've had a bowl of pasta and a glass of wine and have slept in it. I'm happy to report it's fabulous! A neighbor passed by the other day and commented, "this house is too pretty to be left outside." How sweet. I have to take a moment to thank our brother-in-law Sam. Sam is the architect of our dream house and he worked out the architectural design without ever having set foot in it. He did it all from photos and our descriptions, and lots of phone calls from the site. It's truly an amazing accomplishment and a testament to his skill, talent and love for us. While there is still more to be done to get it all just right, the fact that I can write this to you now is nothing short of amazing and reconfirms that you can do anything. It takes a vision and a plan. And yes, lots of love and support from friends and family. More on that later...now let me take you inside. Enjoy!
